The Landscape of Childhood: In a piece called “Child’s Play,” I’ve created a bird’s-eye map of a neighborhood using small objects that might have been picked up, treasured, and then placed in the pocket of a child. The view is a portal into an era before digital technology, when children played outside until the streetlights came on. The viewer, at any age, can become the playful child of this imagined world, running along its miniaturized streets to seek adventure.

The poem stitched into the piece reads "We would play in the summer until the street lights came on. Then run home delighted and start again at dawn."
